I made my debut in the early 1990s drawing comic-books and covers for Comics Forum (Spain).
Nowadays, I combine my work in comics with concept artist for the film world. I have collaborated with Guillermo del Toro on several major films: The Devil’s Backbone, Hellboy, Hellboy II: Golden Army and Pan’s Labyrinth.
I have also worked for top-level international publishers on both sides of the Atlantic: DC Comics ( Red Hood and the outlaws, Deus Ex limited series, Superman: DCUO Legends, Batman: Legends of The Dark Knight digital, Uncharted limited series, Arrow (digital) and others), Random House Mondadori ( Ranko Kameran ), Madefire ( MONO: Pacific ), Planeta DeAgostini ( Thännhauser limited series ) and Panini Comics ( Alma Cubrae ).
In 2019 I worked for Amazon / Sony as a Concept Artist, on a Fantasy series for their Streaming platform. From 2020 to 2021 I worked as Senior Concept Artist for SledgeHammer/Activision and towards the end of 2021 for Sony Pictures on a new movie.
Currently, I live in Barcelona and I’m working on new exciting projects.
I had a lot of fun working on this issue of Red Hood with my friend Juan Albarran on the inks. He did a great job leaving my pencils with a wonderful finish.
As a curiosity, my girlfriend, Diana Egea (concept artist) supervised all my Pup Pup drawings, because I was unable to make it funny.
Spacebound Apes is an illustration project I was commissioned by the record company and publisher Music Sales (now Hal Leonard Europe) to illustrate the music book that would accompany the new Neil Cowley Trio album. A wonderful experience accompanied by Mado Peña in charge of its color.
I returned to the inks with Bruno Redondo at the pencils.
My first professional Artbook published by a great publisher!
I will always be grateful to Oscar Martin (drawing monster, Editor and good friend) for giving me the opportunity to publish my work under his label.
Alma Cubrae is my third work with Gonzalo Torné and one of the most complicated I have faced. This comic is based on the universe of Alma Cubrae (A company of medieval shows) The brothers Jordi and Angel Portella (founders of Alma Cubrae and great friends of mine) financed with great difficulty the cost of the pages, but the printing and distribution was made by Panini Comics under the Evolution label.
Due to its great difficulty and the low cost of its financing, it is a discontinuous work that will be published as I can work on it.
This was my first animated comic I did for Madefire. I had to put a lot of effort and attention in the narrative aspects and in the shots that had to be animated. I was given great freedom to choose which elements I wanted to move to express the scenes in the best way and I have to say it was a great experience.
It wasn't the first time I drew Batman in DC comics, but it was the first time I did a complete self-resolving story drawn and inked entirely by me. I can't describe the happiness, the emotion and the TERROR I felt when I faced this opportunity.
I discovered what it was like to work on a regular series and all the pressure that comes with it. I'm proud to have worked on Arrow and everything I learned doing it.
For the second time I was lucky enough to be able to draw a character I am a big fan of! Nathan Drake! I worked on Uncharted with my friends and colleagues Santi Casas, David López (colorists from Ikai studio) and Pol Cunyat (inks).
My first Superman! I really enjoyed drawing my second favorite character... the first one is from Marvel XD
Justice League Subway is a strange promotional project released in 2011. It mixed the concepts of superheroes (the Justice League) with American sports figures and the promotional object of Subway sandwiches.
I did this fun work together with my great friend Santi Casas, who accompanied me with an incredible work in the inks.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution, was my first job as a pencil and ink artist for DC Comics. I worked with Ben Abernathy (publisher) to whom I will always be grateful for this opportunity.
Round two! More robots!
I worked at Gear School with Nuria Peris while working at Studio Fénix. It was a very fun job to do in which I was in charge of all the inks and the design and finishing of the Mechas.
My first work as Bruno Redondo's inker published in DC Comics. It was my entrance to DC Comics and a great moment in my career as an artist.
It was a great honor to work on this short story by Pérez-Reverte for Estudio Fénix.
Ranko Kameran was my second work with Gonzalo Torné and one of the most personal and interesting works I have done to date.
It was a work that I had to do between other jobs and it was very long and complicated to finish.
I worked at Gear School with Nuria Peris while working at Estudio Fénix. It was a very fun job to do in which I was in charge of all the inks and the design and finishing of the Mechas.
Illustrated adaptation of Ovid's Metamorphoses.
Art made as a team with Nuria Peris.
It was a great honor to be in charge of illustrating this work. The color was done by Nuria Peris.
"Bicycles are for summer" is one of the most emblematic titles of Fernando Fernán Gómez's work. This play, in which the author recreates a fundamental stage of his life, is an excellent opportunity to learn about the effects of the Spanish Civil War on the life of a family and its neighbors from the everyday life, at the same time as it reminds us of the capacity of human beings to adapt to any situation.
Illustrated adaptation of Homer's The Adventures of Ulysses.
Pencil drawing made half by Nuria Peris and me.
I made different works while I was hired at Estudio Fénix. For them I made this book on how to draw monsters.
I collaborated in some chapters of this didactic book made by Estudio Fénix together with Nuria Peris and other great authors.
Tannhauser is my first professional comic published with my great friends and colleagues Gonzalo Torné (writer) and Joan Baranguer (inker). It was originally supported by Sergi Gras, but finally it was published by our editor Antoni Guiral.
The project was originally created with Santiago Navarro (may he rest in peace) and had a long and hard journey until its publication in 1998.
It is my first work and the one I am most proud of.
